I did enjoy the film and laughed at many places, at the same time the film did have its dull moments in between. Though not the same story, this film reminded me of an Israeli film Zinuk BaAlia (2015) that I saw recently where a family handles their mother who is unconscious on coma for months. Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela was acted by Ahaana Krishna. It was based on Njandukalude Nattil Oridavelaby Chandramathi. It was written by Althaf SalimGeorge Kora. These and other dialogues (and the English Subtitles) are simple and in many places noticeably impressive. Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela was directed by Althaf Salim. When he tries to tell the news to his children individually he struggles – to his son Kurien, Chacko starts by saying you can’t see the stars in the morning but they are there then Chacko talks about this to his son-in-law, who thinks he is complaining about Chicken Curry to be spicy Chacko daughter interrupts him and asks him for a new car. Chacko, the head of family breaks down, he couldn’t face it up. When ‘Sheela Chacko’, the mother of 3 adults shares to her doubt to ‘Chacko’, her husband that the lump she feels could be cancer, she is confident and battles it strongly. The box office clash of the biggies is expected to affect the opening day business of all of them. All the cast are perfect for the roles they are playing starting with Shanthi Krishna(of Visu’s Manal Kayiru fame for Tamil audience) and Lal (who is known for his Villain roles in Tamil films like Chandi Veeran). Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela hit theatres in India along with three big-ticket Malayalam movies: Mohanlals Velipadinte Pusthakam, Prithviraj Sukumarans Adam Joan and Mammoottys Pullikkaran Staraa. But, at the same time, its not your full-on fun ride as advertised or a mass entertainer poised to break records. In fact, it is rather a brave, heartfelt attempt at exploring a very relevant theme.
Director Althaf Salim has told the story with humour throughout, in a style that’s normally not seen in Indian main stream movies. After making her début with Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela two years ago, she made a big impact with hits such as Mayaanadhi, Varathan and Vijay Superum. Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, is not a bad film or a badly-made film.

The movie revolves around the big C word, the thought of which, sends a chill down almost every one’s spine. the theatre was filled with sounds of laughter for the entire running time and none of these were forced or out of place.The casting is pitch perfect and Lal delivers another memorable performance.Shanthi Krishna couldn’t have asked for a better comeback vehicle.Nivin Pauly plays to his strength. He is currently prepping up for his next release, Richie. His last released Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela which he also co- produced, received appreciation from the audience. Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela (2017) starring Nivin Pauly is a Malayalam film about a family coping with their mother’s fight with cancer in their own way.
